The Los Angeles Rams put out their initial 53-man roster, and it has been met with much fanfare, but there has also been some controversy as the Rams cut Chris Paul Jr. after trading away two picks in the latest NFL draft to get him.

The draft compensation wasn’t outrageous, L.A. sent picks 201 and 202 to the Minnesota Vikings, for the chance to move up to pick 172 and grab Paul out of Ole Miss. Still, it’s notable when a team clearly covets a player, only to end up letting them go.

For those who follow Turf Show Times, Paul’s departure shouldn’t be totally out of left field as Blaine Grisak shared that it would be surprising, but not impossible for Paul to find himself cut, and that’s what happened.

As it stands, the Rams will move forward with Nate Landman, Omar Speights, Shaun Dolac
