CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle west Charlotte crash on Monday night, according to police .

Officials announced on Tuesday, Aug. 26 , that 64-year-old Thomas Pruitt was the person who died.

The wreck reportedly happened around 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25, along Paw Creek Road near Toddville Road.

Police said that when they arrived, Pruitt was lying unresponsive next to his motorcycle, which had fallen onto its side in the road. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Officers also found a Chevrolet SUV and its driver nearby; the vehicle was reportedly involved in the collision. Detectives stated that the SUV driver was screened for impairment and was found not to be impaired.
