A prison officer who secretly romanced inmates has been locked up for her inappropriate conduct.

Aimee Duke was caught on CCTV slipping into prison cells 'when she had no professional reason to'.

The 26-year-old was even caught on camera 'acting inappropriately with inmates' at HMP Five Wells, in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Duke began working at the category C prison in April 2022.

She was searched in August when a piece of paper with the ID number of one prisoner was found in her purse.

Text messages were uncovered on her phone after she was arrested at work, Northamptonshire Police said.

In one, a prisoner wrote: "I want us to be together 100%".
