VIGIL FOR ASTORIA’S CAR CRASH VICTIMS:

Council Member Tiffany Cabán released the following statement: “On August 12, a driver hit and killed two pedestrians on 19th Avenue and 42nd Street in Astoria. The driver died from injuries from the crash…[O]n Wednesday, August 27, at 6 PM (tonight), I will be hosting a vigil with Transportation Alternatives, Families for Safe Streets, and local community members to remember the lives lost. We will be gathering on the Northeast corner of 19th Ave and 42nd Street in Astoria, at the site of the crash. All community members are invited to join us in mourning and remembrance.
