A Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway was held last week in Astoria. The event was strengthened by the support of Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, whose backpack donation reflects his ongoing commitment to youth and education across the borough. Volunteers from Projekt NYC worked side by side with NYPD Community Affairs officers and Comunidad Latinx to unload trucks, set up tents and tables, assist vendors, and distribute supplies.
