(WHTM) — The biannual spring and fall time switch may no longer exist in Pennsylvania.

A resolution proposed in the State Legislature would urge the U.S. Congress to require that all states permanently observe Daylight Saving Time year-round and eliminate the spring and fall time switch.

In a co-sponsorship memo, Rep. Joe McAndrew (D-32) claims that the sun will begin to set earlier in the day again, which leads to more electrical use in our homes, a lack of productivity in our workforce, and preventable safety risks. The memo also asserts that fatal vehicle crashes rise in the week after the time shift, largely due to sleep loss and circadian rhythm disruption.
