MARTINSBURG -- Eight-year-old Martinsburg resident Jocelyn Sykes is about to be featured in a big way, among the bright lights of New York City.

On Sept. 6, a photograph of the Potomac Intermediate School third grader will be featured in the annual National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Times Square Video Presentation. Jocelyn's photograph was submitted by her mother, Jessica Sykes, to the NDSS. It was selected from over 2,600 other entries to be included in the presentation.

"This picture was so Jocelyn. It shows her sassiness and her determination that speaks, 'Nothing is going to stop me and nothing is down about me,'" Jessica said.
