Although you may wish for death to forget where you live, it never does. Eventually, that dreaded visit arrives, despite your strongest hope that it knocks on someone else’s door. Until then, you have a choice: pretend the visit will never happen, or, like my hospice patients did, find ways to make the journey less frightening.
