WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- DC JazzFest officially kicked off on Wednesday, leading into a smooth weekend for people living in and visiting the District.
From Aug. 27-31, the citywide celebration is welcoming new artists in addition to its headliners.
The festival begins on Wednesday evening with celebrations in Eaton D.C. from 4-8 p.m. Then, from 8-11 p.m., the party continues at The Hamilton Live.
More events are taking place at The Kennedy Center, American University, Canal Park and across other hot spots in the District.
Five-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist Lalah Hathaway is expected to perform on Friday. Reggie Bowens Group, Joshua Bayer Quintet, Leigh Pilzer and Justin Mendez are just some of the headliners for the Labor Day weekend festival.
