An 18-year-old defendant was charged with a felony count of vehicular manslaughter on Tuesday for a crash that killed a 14-year-old passenger in Novato .

Cristofer Alexander Larreinaga Corea had already been charged previously in connection with the crash, but the girl died after the original charges were filed. The Marin County District Attorney’s Office filed an amended complaint against him on Tuesday.

Larreinaga Corea is also charged with felony hit-and-run causing death, hit-and-run driving resulting injury, reckless driving causing an injury and child endangerment.

The girl was Emanuely Souza. Another passenger, a 15-year-old boy, also suffered injuries.

Larreinaga Corea, a San Rafael resident, has yet to enter a plea. Judge Geoffrey Howard set the next hearing for Sept. 2.
