A man was electrocuted at Burning Man and flown to a trauma center, according to Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen.

Allen told the Reno Gazette Journal he was advised that the person was flown to a trauma center Tuesday night after another rainstorm closed the gates to Burning Man. People inside the gates were told to shelter in place.

"It was reported as electrocution," Allen said. He said his office was struggling to get more information from Burning Man officials. "We were able to verify a male was airlifted for a report of electrocution."

Allen said there has been no update on the man's condition from Burning Man.
