KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - David Henderson, a former Knox County Sheriff’s Office narcotics chief, has agreed to plead guilty to defrauding the sheriff’s office. It comes after he was accused of spending $138,000 on Apple products, ordering his subordinates to work on construction projects while off the clock and using KCSO resources to restore classic cars.
The news first came to light in 2020, when Henderson resigned from the sheriff’s office during an investigation by the FBI. In 2022, Henderson was ordered to return or pay for the products he bought from 2011 to 2018 with KCSO money.
Henderson didn’t just buy Apple computers, iPads and speakers, though. The plea agreement also said he ordered his subordinates to pay for things like cameras, Yeti coolers, power tools, La-Z-Boy reclin
