NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) - Cocke County has been approved for $2 million in state funding to help complete a new industrial center that will be called Innovation Park, according to Cocke County Mayor Rob Mathis.
“This new industrial center will provide much-needed manufacturing and industrial jobs for our citizens,” said Mathis.
He said this $2 million is in addition to $2 million that was secured for the sewer work for this project last year. This money will help with other construction and developmental aspects for this project.
“These funds will provide electricity, broadband, paving, lights, etc to this park,” said Mathis.
He said this a great step in Cocke County’s recovery from Helene.
