KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Human remains discovered in Knoxville in 2020 have been identified as a result of a cold case initiative, according to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center.
In May of 2020, KPD asked the Knox County Regional Forensic Center to investigate an unidentified body found in Knoxville. After investigation, no identity was able to be found for the body.
“Forensic anthropology studies determined that the remains were those of an adult male, likely between the ages of 55 and 70. The cause and manner of death were ruled undetermined. All conventional means of forensic identification failed to yield the man’s identity,” said the Knox County Regional Forensic Center.
