Emil Wakim has said his final goodnights on Saturday Night Live .

After one season on Lorne Michaels ’ iconic sketch comedy show, the comedian shared that he will not be part of the NBC show’s season 51 cast.

“I won’t be returning to snl next year,” Emil wrote on Instagram Aug. 27. “It was a gut punch of a call to get but i’m so grateful for my time there.”

“i was at six flags celebrating my friends 36th birthday,” he continued of the moment he received the news, “and went on a really emotional walk through bugs bunny park and stared out across daffy duck lake thinking about life.”

Though his time in Studio 8H has come to an end, the 27-year-old went on to reflect on how grateful he was to have made so many memories at 30 Rock.
