Westport police have arrested a New York man who is suspected of stealing golf clubs worth thousands of dollars from a golf club in Westport and they said he is suspected of similar thefts in Norwalk and in New York as well.

Officers responded to the Longshore Golf Club on Compo Road South in Westport just after 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7 to investigate a burglary at the pro shop and staff members told them that someone had forced their way in earlier in the morning and stole around $12,498.70 worth of golf clubs and golf bags.
