RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - People headed to Burning Man are still being told to expect delays of hours as wet, stormy conditions have continued this week.

Organizers say that while the rain has stopped, the Gate remains closed, and conditions are being monitored on Gate Road.

You are asked to delay travel to Black Rock City. SR447 is closed in Nixon, and drivers will be turned around.

Those already on SR447 headed towards Gerlach are asked to drive carefully, and to wait out any stormy conditions in a sensible location that does not impact any other travelers.

Travel time into the event site could be more than eight hours.

Organizers say the playa is too wet to drive on, and that you should keep all cables, plugs, and generators dry.
