A heartbroken family is mourning a 14-year-old who authorities said was stabbed to death by another teen at a group home in Oakland Park.

Jordan Dowdy was stabbed to death by a 16-year-old during a fight at the home along the 5400 block of Northeast 3rd Avenue on Monday, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

Cell phone video showed deputies and paramedics responding to the home, where Dowdy was found suffering from stab wounds.

First responders could be seen entering the home with a stretcher as deputies took someone into custody, though it's unknown if that was the 16-year-old.

Dowdy was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Neighbors described Dowdy as a respectful teen, and one shared doorbell camera video of him asking for donations for his football team.
