FARGO, N.D. — The Fargo Police Department is investigating a potential threat against a school or shopping center on Wednesday morning.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Fargo Police Department said there was no specific school district or shopping center listed in the threat. Officers are working with federal partners to investigate the threat's legitimacy and who made the threat.

Wednesday is the first day of school at Fargo Public Schools and there will be an increased police presence in and around schools. Investigators did not have any additional information to share as of Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Fargo Police are requesting that people report any suspicious activity to 911.
