The biggest name the Indianapolis Colts cut at the NFL’s roster deadline was claimed by the team’s opponent in the season opener.
Miami claimed 2023 second-round pick JuJu Brents , a cornerback who was never able to overcome the injury bug in Indianapolis and missed 23 of a possible 34 games through his first two seasons in the league. The Dolphins are working through a defensive overhaul in talent, and Brents could play against the Colts in the opener.
Brents, a Warren Central High School graduate, was one of many Colts cornerbacks to struggle with injuries in training camp. Justin Walley, a 2025 third-round draft pick, is lost for the season, and veteran Stanley Womack III was also waived.
