OPP charged the operator of a boat on West Lake in Prince Edward County following a stop on Sunday afternoon.

Prince Edward County and Quinte West OPP were conducting marine patrols around 4:30 p.m. when they suspected the operator of a vessel may be impaired.

Officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the male driver and then transported him to the detachment for further testing.

Forty-two-year-od Decon Waterson of Prince Edward County is charged with:

Operation while impaired

Failure or refusal to comply with a demand

Operating boat underway with open container of liquor

Operating pleasure craft without transferring licence – new owner

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear
