SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, California (KOLO) - CHP South Lake Tahoe says it has issued 323 parking tickets and removed 15 illegally parked vehicles since July 18 as part of the Emerald Bay Pilot Parking project.

The pilot program began on July 15 and aimed to remove illegal or unsafe parking in favor of a shuttle program.

CHP South Lake Tahoe says it is citing and towing vehicles under special restriction designations and abandoned or obstructing vehicles laws.

Police say you should take the Emerald Bay Shuttle instead of using your own vehicle. Shuttles operate from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week until Oct. 15.
