CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 14-year-old is now charged after a 17-year-old was shot and killed in May, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.

Around 4:21 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, officers were called to the 1200 block of Spring Street for a shooting. This is near the interchange between Interstate 77 and Interstate 277 in north Charlotte.

Officers arrived to find 17-year-old Tito Bartolo Walton Jr. shot. He was taken to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

On Thursday, August 21, CMPD's Special Investigation Bureau Crime Gun Suppression Team (CGST) found and arrested a 14-year-old in connection with Walton's murder.
