ANN ARBOR – Michigan safety Brandy Hillman can’t wait to see red.
The 6-foot, 200-pound junior has developed a reputation as being one of most physical players on the team, delivering bone-crunching hits every opportunity he gets.
But going up against his teammates during fall camp for the past month, Hillman has had to throttle down his physicality. He’s ready to face a different opponent and set the tone for the Wolverines’ defense.
That opportunity will come Saturday as the team opens the 2025 season against New Mexico (7:30 p.m., NBC).
“It’s pretty easy,” Hillman said Tuesday of flipping the switch to game days. “Just seeing a different color. How I look at it is they got the same colors as (expletive) Ohio State, so I just play it like that to be honest. That’s me.”
