TYLER, Texas (KETK) -- A new hotel is coming to downtown Tyler, marking a significant investment in the city's hospitality infrastructure.

The Blackstone Hotel will be developed by Valencia Hotel Group, a Houston-based company, and is expected to feature 144 rooms, a 5,700-square-foot meeting space, and a ballroom terrace overlooking downtown.

"At the 2024 State of the City event, I announced that Valencia Hotel Group would develop a hotel in Downtown Tyler, and this agreement brings that commitment closer to reality," City of Tyler Mayor Don Warren said.

The Blackstone first welcomed guests back in November 1922, an iconic landmark during its time. It was known to be a hub for oil deals and the place for social events. It marked the corner of North Broadway and Locust Street before it
