STONECREST, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A former mayor who spent time in a federal prison for embezzling COVID-19 relief funds from the city he helped found is running for office again.
Jason Lary is running to represent District 5 on the Stonecrest City Council.

He was the inaugural mayor of the City of Stonecrest from 2017 to 2022.
Lary spent nearly five years in federal prison after he was convicted of using the city’s COVD relief funds to pay his mortgage on a lake house and other debts.
