SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. - A student is in custody after a gun was fired inside a bathroom at Skipstone Academy in Spalding County on Wednesday, authorities said.
What we know:
Deputies responded within minutes to a call about a gunshot at the private school on Baptist Camp Road. When they arrived, staff directed them to the bathroom where the shot was believed to have been fired.
According to the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found a student inside, took the individual into custody, and recovered a firearm. No students were injured, and officials say the scene is secure.
