WASHINGTON — Daviess Community Hospital held its annual Oncology Cookout on August 13, raising $2,183 to support local cancer patients.

The funds will be allocated to the hospital’s Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, which helps patients cover the costs of treatment, medications, transportation, and other essential needs.

Approximately 170 people attended the fundraiser.

“On the tough days, support like this reminds our patients they’re not alone,” said Sharon Mead, RN, OCN, ONN-CG, oncology nurse navigator. “Every dollar helps remove a barrier to care.”

The event’s success was made possible by contributions from the DCH Auxiliary, local businesses, volunteers, and other community partners.
