PORTSMOUTH — The good news: recycling is up nearly 100 tons. The bad news: some bins are still flying into the roads. Town leaders say both come with the territory of rolling out a new curbside collection program.
The Town Council Monday night focused much of its discussion on the town’s new curbside trash and recycling program , which officials say is showing early signs of success despite a few hiccups.
One of the issues involves bins that lack official stickers. However, Town Administrator Richard Rainer, Jr. said the town has directed drivers to empty all bins, whether or not they currently display a payment sticker.
