SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) - Murder charges were filed for a man from South Dakota.

44-year-old Wade St. John Sr. was charged with one count of murder in the first-degree after being arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 27. He was arrested for a fight that resulted in a death on the previous day.

On Tuesday, Aug 26 around 10:30 p.m., Officers were called to the 200 block of Grand Ave. Officers were called to the scene after they received a report of an unconscious man who was bleeding badly.

When first responders arrived at the scene, a Spencer man was declared dead at the scene.

Court documents have identified the victim; however, as the case is less than 24 hours old, KTIV has chosen not to identify the victim pending notification to the family.
