THESE WASHINGTON DC RESIDENTS ARE ON EDGE AFTER SEEING UNIDENTIFIED FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD.

THEY COVER THEIR FACES AND CARRY RIFLES AS THE STAND OUTSIDE AN APARTMENT WHERE LOCAL POLICE ARRESTED A DRUG OFFENDER.

SOUNDBITE (English) Sgt. Michael Millsaps, Metropolitan Police Department:

“In addition to there's narcotics and a firearm that's illegal inside the apartment. So no federal assets are even here anymore. Right now, it's only MPD (Metropolitan Police Department) The ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms) assisting us, the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) folks that were here all left earlier. The suspect is being transported off the scene. He's safe. We're safe.”

SOUNDBITE (English) Aaron Goldstein, Washington DC Resident:

"Get the guns off the street. Great. Why not do it at 6:30 a.m.? Why not do it at 1030? Why do it precisely at school drop of time and terrorize these children who will remember this for the rest of their lives."

IT’S ONE BOIL-OVER AMONG MANY THAT HAVE ERUPTED ACROSS THE NATION’S CAPTIAL AS PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP’S BRINGS IN MORE FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TO CRACKDOWN ON CRIME, HOMELESSNESS AND IMMIGRATION.

SOUNDBITE (English) Nancy Petrovic, Washington DC Resident:

"We have literally 20 (police) cars, now motorcycles and God knows who else here. So it's frightening. We're very upset, and we want them to go away. We want them to leave our neighborhood. There's no reason for them to be here. This is a quiet neighborhood. We all pretty much know each other. Brown Street is only three blocks long, so they have no reason to be here. Not in this capacity."
