The U.S. Forest Service has implemented enhanced fire restrictions across National Forest lands in the Lake Tahoe Basin, effective Tuesday, in response to ongoing wildfire risks.

Under the new rules, campfires using wood, charcoal, pellets, or any other solid fuels are only allowed in permanently installed fire rings located in designated campgrounds and recreation areas listed in the Forest Order’s Exhibits A and B . Campfires are now prohibited in Blackwood Canyon, Luther Pass, and Watson Lake campgrounds.
