BLACK DIAMOND LABOR DAYS

One of Black Diamond’s biggest events is scheduled for Aug. 31 and Sep. 1.

On Saturday, there will be live entertainment, a pie, jam, and jelly contest, and field games like sack races and the “straw scramble” for coins.

And on Sunday, don’t miss the community breakfast at the Masonic Hall at 7 a.m., or the Labor Days parade on the SR 169 (which is closed to traffic) at 10 a.m. There will be entertainment, free ice cream, and more field games following.

SUNFLOWER DAYS

Maris Farms is celebrating the end of summer with its annual Sunflower Days on Saturday and Sundays from Sept. 6 to 21, giving you a chance to frolic through fields of flowers while enjoying everything else the farm has to offer.
