RICHLAND, Wash. - Construction to improve the South George Washington Way is set to begin on September 2.
According to the City of Richland, the intersection at South George Washington and Aaron Drive/Columbia Point Drive is one of the busiest in the tri-cities.
The first phase of construction will begin with the closure of the parking lane to Benham Street.
“This intersection is a vital gateway to Richland and our region,” city manager, Jon Amundson said. “These improvements represent years of planning and collaboration to ensure safer, more efficient travel for our community."
The project aims to be completed by late November.
