Bentonville City Council votes to keep biking mural at center of controversy

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Bentonville City Council voted Aug. 26 to keep a biking mural that has been the center of controversy for months.

The city council was originally critical of a mural named ”All Bikers Welcome,” painted by the group All Bikes Welcome, because of inconsistencies in the original plans.

According to a statement from city council member Beckie Seba, the group ventured off the original artwork that was approved by the Public Art Committee, the Parks and Recreation Committee, and the city council.

At its last meeting, the council voted to "accept the artist's proposed modifications and close all complaints" with the mural, according to Michael McCranie with the city.
