WACO, Texas — A former Waco ISD staff member is in police custody following a criminal investigation into inappropriate communication between an employee and a student.
According to a statement from Waco ISD Executive Director of Communications Jill Anderson, former campus aide Jody Deshawn Edwards no longer works at Waco High School following a criminal investigation by Waco ISD Police Department.
Waco ISD was informed of alleged inappropriate communication involving a campus aide at Waco High School on Aug. 25. Law enforcement was contacted, and a criminal investigation led by Waco ISD PD began, according to the statement.
The statement said Edwards was brought into police custody and that he does not work for Waco ISD following the investigation.
