HONOLULU (Island News) -- A crash early Tuesday morning caused major traffic disruption on the H-1 Freeway eastbound near the Kaonohi Street overpass, but all lanes have since been reopened as of 5:30 AM, according to officials.
Emergency crews from the Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene after the collision was reported around 4:51 AM.
EMS reports that one patient was treated and transported to a hospital in stable condition. Two other individuals were evaluated at the scene but declined transport.
The Hawaii Department of Transportation announced at 6:43 a.m., that the Zipper Lane and the HOV lane will be open to all vehicles to help alleviate eastbound H-1 traffic backup. Drivers can use the lanes regardless of how many passeng
