As the world turns its eyes on Queens for the US Open, several young people from the borough will be right there on the sidelines — not as spectators, but as members of the official ball crew. These young people are all part of New York Junior Tennis & Learning (NYJTL), the largest youth tennis and education nonprofit in the nation. • Morgan Ma, from Fresh Meadows and a junior at Townsend Harris High School, has been with NYJTL for five years through the Community Tennis Program. She is captain of her varsity tennis team and a member of multiple honor societies, she was also invited to the USTA Foundation Haber Career Days in Washington, D.C. this summer. • Ryley Zhang, from Forest Hills, is heading to Princeton this fall.
