HYATTSVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) -- The City of Hyattsville will be having a free microchip event for dogs in September.

The event will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21, at the City Building, located at 4310 Gallatin St., from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event will be a drive-through style. Microchips will be administered to the dogs inside vehicles.

The event is only open to Prince George's County residents. Attendees will need to bring two items with their county addresses. All dogs will need to be on leashes shorter than six feet, and they cannot be retractable.

The clinic will be held rain or shine until supplies last.

Registration is required.
