SEAT PLEASANT, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police have identified the woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Seat Pleasant on Tuesday.

The Prince George's County Police Department said the young mother who died in the crash was identified as 35-year-old Shaunte Denise Canty of Washington, D.C.

The crash happened at around 3:50 p.m., when Seat Pleasant Police Department patrol officers saw a car driving in the Seat Pleasant Drive and Joplin Street area. The car had been reported stolen on Aug. 22.

Officers began following the car from a distance, but did not turn on the cruiser lights to initiate a pursuit.
