The Patriots claimed one of the NFL’s more notable backup quarterbacks off of waivers on Wednesday to help fill out the depth chart behind Drake Maye.
Tommy DeVito, formerly of the Giants, was added by New England to backup Maye and second-stringer Joshua Dobbs.
The 27-year-old DeVito had previously spent the entirety of his two-year NFL career in New York. But, after being ruled the odd man out of the Giants’ crowded quarterback room, he now heads north to Foxborough.

He had a lengthy college career at multiple schools
DeVito attended Don Bosco Preparatory High School in his native New Jersey, playing in the Under Armour All-American Game. Initially, he committed to play college football at Syracuse.
