SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Springfield has been booked in the Greene County Jail for a reported sexual assault over the weekend.

According to online court dockets, Brock Edward Woodfin, born in 1976, is charged with two counts of felony first-degree sodomy and two counts of misdemeanor second-degree sexual abuse.

The probable cause statement says Springfield Police Department (SPD) officers investigated a report of a juvenile girl who disclosed Woodfin had inappropriately touched her on Saturday, Aug. 23, saying he at one point choked her to stop her from crying.

Officers investigated further and discovered text messages Woodfin sent to the victim, including several with him telling the victim not to say anything because he didn’t want to go to prison.
