LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Wednesday, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that her administration would provide funding to help rebuild from the severe weather that struck on April 2.
Sanders stated in a news release that the $1.5 million in funds would come from the Governor's Disaster Response and Recovery Fund.
These funds would be used at the discretion of the funds director to manage both program and administrative costs.
The severe weather on April 2, 2025, led Sanders to declare an emergency in Arkansas until April 16.
The numerous flash floods, tornadoes, and storms across the state caused several injuries, multiple road closures, power outages, and ruined crops for farmers .
