WOODBURN, Ore. (KPTV) - A 20-year-old driver died after a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 early Tuesday near Woodburn, according to the Oregon State Police.
The crash happened on southbound I-5 near milepost 267 at about 4:25 a.m.
Police say K’Rondre’ Demarcus Minor of Gresham was driving an Infiniti G35 north in the southbound lanes, when Minor crashed the Infiniti head-on into a Honda Civic heading south.
Minor was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries, but later died.
The Honda driver, a 22-year-old from Saint Helens, also suffered critical injuries, and authorities have not released any updated information about their current condition.
Traffic was backed up on I-5 South for about five hours while officers investigated the crash.
