CLEVELAND -- Kyle Manzardo continues to deliver for the Guardians in clutch time.
Manzardo lined a walk-off single off Griffin Jax on Wednesday to send the Guardians home with a 4-3 win over the Rays at Progressive Field.
For Manzardo, it was his third career walk-off hit. He also had a walk-off single on Aug. 1 and a walk-off solo homer vs. the Twins on April 29.
Just as important as Manzardo’s swing was that which Nolan Jones delivered an inning prior. Jones crushed a game-tying solo homer off Rays closer Pete Fairbanks, marking his first homer since June 13 against the Mariners. It snapped a streak of 142 homerless at-bats for the Guardians outfielder.
The Guardians got back to .500 with the win (66-66) and snapped a streak of three consecutive series losses.
