A former Alabama chiropractor found guilty of the attempted murder of his wife earlier this year has been sentenced to life in prison.
Brian Thomas Mann, 36, of Hartselle, was arrested in 2022 after his wife, Hannah, 26, was unresponsive at UAB Hospital and was reported to Morgan County Department of Human Resources as a possible victim of intentional lead poisoning.
A UAB doctor testified in June that Mann had eight times the amount of lead in her body that a person would normally have and required around the clock irrigation of her colon to remove it.
Hannah testified that she first became sick in Aug. 2021, with severe back and abdominal pain and nausea.
Dizzy, lethargic and finding it difficult to walk, she said she took multi-vitamins provided by Brian.
