The cause of Monday’s house explosion St. Louis County has been narrowed down to a natural gas leak.
St. Louis regional bomb and arson unit detectives have ruled out criminal activity and instead zeroed in on natural gas as the cause.
“Our investigators are trained to look for reasons as to why something like this may have happened,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Kenneth Gregory. “They’re also trained to look for other reasons…as to why it didn’t happen. You’ve heard the talk about meth labs and things of that sort, so they look for those types of things. They’re trained to do that, and they determined that with all that was eliminated, they came up with the possibility of gas.”
