Mike’s Bikes is open for business near downtown Bastrop and has just completed its first 30 days of operation.
Jason Hernandez, the owner, told Community Impact his business—which operates out of a renovated 1967 Airstream Land Yacht—is filling the need for a local bicycle repair shop in Bastrop, and offers bicycle rentals with safety equipment for $15 per hour and $50 per day.
“Being a full-service shop, I’m able to accommodate 99% of everybody’s needs,” he said. “People have been overwhelmingly positive, because I can do flat repairs and I can do full tune-ups. I literally had a guy waiting outside for me the day we opened.”
Hernandez, a Cedar Creek resident, named Mike’s Bikes after his son and said he is excited to be a part of the Bastrop community after about a year and a half
