BELFAST, Maine (WABI) - According to the Department of Agriculture, farmers markets in the US date back to the 1700s. Here in Maine, one of longest-running markets is located right on the MidCoast.

“It is an upbeat market. But even as busy as we are, we still get people that say, ‘Oh, I didn’t know this market existed.’ And this market’s been going on for 45 years!” said Lauri Philbrick of Boyd Brook Farming in Frankfort.

Every Friday in the summer, you’ll find Philbrick among the gathering of people outside of Waterfall Arts on High Street.
