A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times but is expected to survive after a series of shootings in Hanford that led to the arrests of two juvenile suspects, police said Wednesday.

Officers responded Monday afternoon to reports of gunfire near the Western States Inn at 11th Avenue and Davis Street, where they found shell casings but no victims, the Hanford Police Department said.

Less than an hour later, police were called to Lacey Park and found a 17-year-old with gunshot wounds to his legs and upper back. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

Investigators identified another 17-year-old boy as the suspected shooter in the park and linked him to earlier gunfire near the motel.
